Renewal of Wedding Vows: For special Anniversaries, we do offer the renewal of wedding vows (for couples who have been married in the Catholic Church) after the homily at the 6 PM Mass, Monday through Friday, at the Church of St. Patrick, Via Boncompagni, N. 31, near the corner of Via Boncompagni and Via Piemonte, near the U.S. Embassy to Italy and the famous Via Veneto. We will be celebrating our weekday Masses at St. Patrick's until Santa Susanna re-opens. We usually only have one couple at any given Mass. We are not able to assist you with renewing your wedding vows at St. Peter's Basilica due to our own pastoral schedule. If you are interested in renewing your vows at St. Patrick's, please contact Fr. Greg. After setting a date, we ask that you send us by fax (011.3906.474.0236) or email a copy of your Catholic Church wedding certificate and a letter from your pastor stating that you are parishioners at his parish. We also ask a 50 Euro donation to be given on the day of the Renewals. If you have any further questions, please let us know. Please note that we will only schedule Renewal of Vows at St. Patrick's within three months of the desired date.
St. Patrick's Church
Fr. Greg witnessed the Renewal of Vows of Ed and Deb Danielczyk (above), Ray and Joan Beach, Tony and Barb Uglik, and Wes and Donna Manry on Friday, March 18, 2016 in St. Patrick’s Church (all below). Ed writes: “Father Greg invited us to stand in front of the parishioners attending mass and we individually professed our love and devotion to our wives for a second time. What was even more exciting, all wives said "Yes" to our proposals. It was a wonderful and emotional experience. We felt so welcomed by Father Greg and the parishioners. Collectively between us, we have been married for over 170 years and are looking for many more happy years together.” Congratulations! Tanti Auguri!!
Our newest edition (2016) of As Romans Do, our periodic guide for pilgrims to Rome, is now available. This 100-page guide to Rome and the Catholic American Community of Santa Susanna is a real treasure. The Paulists currently on staff (Fr. Greg Apparcel and Fr. Steve Bossi) and the entire Santa Susanna Community are ready and willing to assist all pilgrims coming to Rome in 2016 and 2017 and to do everything to make your visit as fulfilling as possible. This edition of As Romans Do is dedicated to all of you who seek to deepen and enrich your faith during your time in Rome. It makes many and varied recommendations for what to see and do, provides opening times and costs for museums and other places of interest, and gives an overview of what it means to be a pilgrim. Just send Fr. Greg your name and address and he will mail you a copy. (We do not have an email version.) All we ask is that you consider sending us a donation to help with postage and to support our ministry here in Rome.
